In the Pumpkin Patch!
This week we are learning about pumpkins! We learned the life cycle of a pumpkin, washed pumpkins, measured pumpkins, scooped the seeds out, painted pumpkins, played pumpkin games, and made pumpkin artwork. Tomorrow is our trick-or-treat day, and I cannot wait to see all of the fantastic costumes!
Our poem of the week is:
(Sung to the tune of "I'm a Little Teapot")
I am a pumpkin
Orange and round
Here is my stem
And here is the ground.
When I get all cut up,
Don't you shout.
Just open me up
And scoop me out.

Fall on the Farm!
This week our theme was Fall is on the Farm! We learned how animals help us on the farm and how farmers milk a cow. We even made homemade butter and shared it with Doodlebugs! classrooms. Each day we used our handprints to paint farm animals. We had so much fun during our Doodlebugs! sing-along. We were little pigs and held up our farm animal puppets while we sang "Old MacDonald Had a Farm." Our favorite song this week was "Animal Action."
Our poem of the week was:
Mr. Farmer comes out before the sun
And counts his animals for fun.
Little pigs 1,2,3!
"Oink, Oink!" The pigs play in the mud.
Little cows 4,5,6!
The cows need to be milked.
Little sheep 7,8,9!
The sheep's wool keeps us warm.
Little eggs,
There are ten.
They came from the hen!
