Apples A Plenty!

This week’s theme was Apples A Plenty! We learned all about where apples grow and what we can make with apples. We even cut apples open to see the star inside, where the seeds are. We counted the seeds, played apple games, and even made apple print paintings. We even learned the Spanish words for apple, apple tree, and applesauce. Doodlebugs! classrooms celebrated together during our apple parade. We made apple hats that said “Cutest Bunch!”

Our poem of the week was:

Five red apples,
Hanging on a tree.
The juiciest apples
You ever did see.
The wind came past
And gave an angry frown.
And one little apple
Came tumbling down!
Painting A for airplane, apple, and alligator!

Making tissue paper apples

We counted how many seeds were in the apples! There were 10 in the big apple, and 13 in the small apple!

We went outside for a fall nature walk. We used our five senses and talked about what we saw, heard, smelled, felt, and tasted. Then we shared our ideas and Miss Kate wrote our ideas down to make a poem. We love being poets!

Dipping yarn in red, yellow, and green paint to paint her apple

The letter of the week is A! We are drawing things that start with the letter A in the magic foam (shaving cream). We wrote the letter A, drew apples, alligators, and ants. Miss Kate drew an airplane.

Watching a friend make an apple tree with his handprints for the leaves, and his fingerprints for the apples!
