This week the theme was Winter Animals: Penguins and Seals. Students enjoyed playing in our corner of the room that we transformed into Antartica, filled with igloos and penguin and polar bear puppets they created! We learned about animals that hibernate and what they need to stay warm. We even made a class book of winter animals. Our art activities included handprint penguin art and seal puppets. Our letter of the week was E, and we enjoyed using shaving cream in trays to practice writing our letters. Our poem of the week was about penguins. We loved hopping around like penguins and learning how penguins take care of their eggs.
I'm a little penguin
Living on the ice
I think the winter
Is very nice!
I can hop around.
First once,
Then twice!
