Winter Wear!

This week the theme was winter wear! We learned about the four seasons and all the clothes we need to wear to stay warm in winter. Miss Kate and friends brought in snow from outside to put in our sensory bin. We put on our mittens and made snow castles, snowmen, and snow stars. We practiced being word detectives to match pictures and words, and find things in the room that start with the letter B, which was our letter of the week. We made picture graphs, decorated a winter bear, and created class books.
Our poem of the week was:

I have mittens on my hands,
On my hands.
The mittens
 Keep my hands
Nice and warm.
I love my mittens
On my hands!
(Each day students substituted the clothing and body part with hat/head, jacket/body, boots/feet, and scarf/neck.)
